They were received by the grants programme director at CRS, Khaled Al-Faqih, and the representative of the project's partner organisations, Ayman Saeed.<\/p>\n<p>The director of the Centre's branch, Abu Ayyash, explained that the project's aim is to widen participation and involve most groups of the local community in changing the reality of consumer protection and in pressing the government to activate monitoring and inspection of goods that do not comply with the consumer protection law, adding: \"A number of awareness activities and public meetings with school pupils will begin shortly to educate the public in recognising goods unfit for consumption, as well as to encourage traders to supply sound goods in accordance with Palestinian standards and specifications.\"<\/p>\n<p>For his part, the grants programme director at Catholic Relief Services, Al-Faqih, expressed his admiration for the achievements of the consumer protection project in its first phase, in raising awareness and public pressure for attention to citizens' health when choosing products and goods from the local market.
