Iyad Abu Hjair, the coordinator of the Civil Peace project, Hanan Al-Dalu, and the Centre's field coordinator for the community reconciliation file, Fayez Zaqout.<\/p>\n<p>Abu Hjair stressed the need to produce a code of honour agreed between the student bodies at the universities, and that the secretariat of the student bodies bears a responsibility to improve its coordination with all parties inside and outside the universities, adding: \"The student bodies should play greater community roles beyond the university walls in order to strengthen community reconciliation, which requires an effective student movement.\"<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Shamekh Badra, one of the leaders of the secretariat of the student bodies, spoke of the need to work on amending the internal regulations by consensus in order to strengthen the secretariat's body and to take up students' shared issues away from differing political positions. He explained that the solution lies in keeping the Palestinian universities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip clear of the circle of conflict between the political forces.<\/p>\n<p>The participants from the student bodies called for the importance of reaching an agreed formula to resolve the universities' problems, particularly with university managements and students, by forming a joint working committee to contain the difficulties that may arise in the future.
