The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in coordination with Al-Quds Open University, Tubas branch, held a round table meeting between the student union and the student blocs within the university in Nablus governorate, with the aim of strengthening coordination and joint communication between university groups at the country's universities, so as to work towards achieving community reconciliation in the future.<\/p>\n
At the start of the meeting, the coordinator of the Coalition of Civil Forces project at the Conflict Resolution Center, Hanadi Al-Qadoumi, set out the importance of engaging with young people, particularly university students and graduates, and involving them in dealing with the national and community issues that have an important effect on all groups in society. She stressed the need to encourage students to express their views on freedom of opinion and expression on campus, as well as explaining the importance of a culture of civil peace and acceptance of others.<\/p>\n
For his part, the director of the Al-Quds Open University branch in Tubas, Dr. Nidal Abdel Ghafour, pointed out that achieving community reconciliation will help achieve national unity between the two parts of the homeland, and stressed strengthening positive communication between the student council and the various student blocs. He valued the Conflict Resolution Center's efforts on this question of strengthening constructive dialogue between students and young people, as the first fruit of continuing joint work between the university and the Centre.<\/p>\n
During the meeting with the staff of the student blocs and the student council, all parties agreed on strengthening the relationship between the student bodies and the university management and on addressing the space of freedom given to the student bodies on campus, in addition to agreeing on a range of events to be supervised by the student blocs, among them holding a conference at the end of this year.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
