\nThe Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution organised a round table meeting for the student councils at An-Najah National University, within the activities and events of the project \"Five years after the division\", funded by the National Endowment for Democracy, to end the state of division and embody the spirit of national unity of the Palestinian people.
\nThe meeting, opened by Hanadi Al-Qadoumi, the project coordinator at the Conflict Resolution Center, was attended by Iyad Al-Aqra, representing the management of An-Najah University and director of student affairs, and many of the student blocs, namely the Youth Movement, the Islamic Bloc, the Popular Front, the Student Union Council and the Student Unity Bloc.
\nIyad Al-Aqra spoke about the university management's role in facilitating the work of the student bodies and about the management having a clear strategy to support and harness all available resources to make the student bodies' events a success in a way that serves students.
\nFor his part, Issam Odeh of the Conflict Resolution Center expressed the importance of the democratic experience An-Najah University went through in the recent elections, which truly embodied the meanings of the spirit of work and democracy among the student bodies. He noted the nature of the relationship between the student bodies and the university and the extent of freedom of opinion and expression within it, and the importance of collective work through joint initiatives between the student bodies.
\nFor their part, the student bodies called for the need to hold workshops and awareness seminars for university students in order to strengthen a spirit of acceptance and dialogue and to reject a culture of blind fanaticism, and to hold joint initiatives bringing together all the student bodies, such as a photographic exhibition of our prisoners and our valiant martyrs from all groups, who sacrificed for the sake of Palestine.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
