\nWithin the activities carried out by the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution in the Gaza Strip, the Centre, in cooperation with the Young Legal Leaders, concluded a training course for students of the Faculty of Law at Al-Azhar University and students of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University, in addition to a number of trainee lawyers.
\nThe course ran for four consecutive days from 11\/3\/2013, with around 25 participants of both sexes taking part, comprising 12 training hours.
\nLawyer Younis Al-Tahrawi, head of the legal unit at the Conflict Resolution Center, said this course comes in the context of the Centre's policy of developing the legal skills and expertise of students and new lawyers.
\nFor his part, Ahmed Al-Masri, lawyer at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, spoke on the first and second days of the course about the practical procedures of pleading before the courts, the procedures for bringing an action, how to notify the opposing party of the date of the scheduled hearing and how judgments are issued, focusing on pleading because of its great importance for a lawyer, since it is the weapon through which they show their talents and abilities and on which the judge builds their conviction.
\nIn the same context, lawyer Ahmed Hassouna addressed on the third day of the course the methods of proof under the evidence law (1 and 2), judicial proof and its importance, who bears the burden of proof and the rules governing it. On the fourth day a mock trial session was held in which all the students took part, and they expressed their pleasure at taking part in the training course and hoped for more such courses.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
