A delegation from the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, within the Coalition of Civil Forces for Civil Peace, visited a number of families of the victims of the division, of differing political and party affiliations, in the Gaza governorates.<\/p>\n
In this context, the director of the Gaza branch, Iyad Abu Hjair, stressed that the visits aim to ease the bitterness in the hearts of the victims' families, to give them some moral and psychological compensation, to help strengthen the concepts of tolerance and acceptance of others, and to prepare the conditions and atmosphere for achieving national reconciliation. He noted that these visits began during Ramadan and will continue in the coming period, with a group of mukhtars, reconciliation committees, released prisoners and a number of young activists taking part in them.<\/p>\n
For his part, the field coordinator of the Coalition of Civil Forces for Civil Peace, Fayez Zaqout, pointed out that the visits to the homes of the victims of the division reveal the wounds and negative effects on families after losing their sons more than six years ago, with the stories differing from one home to another. He explained that the result is the same: there are real victims affected by the division materially and psychologically, and our role today lies in creating the conditions to end the division for them, for their families and for all members of Palestinian society.<\/p>\n
For his part, Mukhtar Ayesh Younis welcomed this initiative, which works to bring the parties' views closer together and to ease the resentment and bitterness in citizens' hearts, pointing out that tolerance will prevail if community reconciliations take place.<\/p>\n
In the same context, the young man Adham Shaheen from Al-Nuseirat, whose leg was amputated during the tragic events, called for the need to replant a culture of tolerance for the sake of our rising generations. He called on everyone to have sincere intentions, to keep away from incitement and not to let deadly party interests prevail, so that tolerance and goodwill prevail among all sections of society.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
