\nThe Coalition of Civil Forces for Civil Peace at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution held two workshops for students of Al-Rawda College and Hijjawi College in Nablus governorate, with the participation of 100 male and female students and attended by representatives who are members of the Coalition of Civil Forces for Civil Peace.<\/p>\n
At the start of the two meetings, the coordinator of the Coalition of Civil Forces for Civil Peace in Nablus governorate, Hanadi Al-Qadoumi, spoke of how the Conflict Resolution Center has had a clear vision and strategy for years to achieve civil peace and strengthen community reconciliation among the groups of the local community. She added: \"We believe in the social engagement of the various groups of our society and in stressing the community issues that help raise the cultural and social awareness of young people and civil society organisations, leading to a number of youth initiatives that help achieve a state of civil peace.\"<\/p>\n
At the first meeting at Al-Rawda College, the media professional Najeh Al-Sayeh reviewed the human suffering that peoples face and its effects on the internal structure of the Palestinian people, in addition to highlighting the reality of a culture of civil peace and the mutual acceptance of views and their connection with social concepts such as the rule of law and tolerance. He pointed out that the challenges caused by the geographical and political division can be put to an end by young people and organisations, and that new foundations for coexistence and affection can be shaped, built on respect for others and on facing all the obstacles that stand in the way of national reconciliation.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile the community activist from the coalition team, Najiya Al-Sheikh, addressed while chairing the workshop at Hijjawi College the main situations and events facing the Palestinian people and their suffering in particular, and how far these affect the structure and the social relationship between the groups of Palestinian society as a whole, as well as Arab and international impressions of the effects of the division. She stressed that socialisation and upbringing are fundamental in nourishing these social concepts, which help narrow the gap between citizens and increase the possibility of communication and consultation on all the matters of life that affect all the country's governorates.<\/p>\n
During their interventions, the students of Al-Rawda and Hijjawi colleges stressed the need to apply the concept of the rule of law, to create a sense of national responsibility towards community issues, to raise confidence that local conditions will improve in the coming period, and to increase coordination between youth initiatives and their engagement with the local community.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
