\nThe project \"Towards a society free of violence against women\" at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution has begun the project's activities and events in Hebron governorate, within the Centre's particular philosophy and work strategy in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.<\/p>\n
On the start of the project's programme of events, the coordinator of the project \"Towards a society free of violence\", Salwa Al-Hafez, pointed out that the project targets women and men in all the marginalised areas of the governorate, among them the village of Khallet Salameh, Al-Karmel and the city of Hebron. She added: \"During the educational meetings, in which 25 women took part, we addressed women's rights and the forms of violence practised against them, in addition to speaking about how to prevent the exploitation of women and how to protect the local community.\"<\/p>\n
Al-Hafez explained that the project provides a range of new services, namely receiving legal and psychological consultations and cases through the free line and receiving cases directly at the Centre's premises in Hebron governorate, and providing psychological, social and individual counselling services. She said: \"We have opened a number of counselling points in the marginalised areas of Al-Karmel, Idhna and Hebron, and have also activated visitation in the family meeting point room for families deprived of seeing their children, at the Centre's premises.\"<\/p>\n
In a related context, the participants in the project's educational meetings expressed the importance of these activities and services and their pleasure at the need to increase awareness and counselling in order to correct the mistaken behaviours inherited by children from their grandparents. They expressed the hope that these services would reach all members of our Palestinian society and every home in Hebron governorate and that work would continue so that society becomes free of violence in all its forms.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
