\nThe Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution in the Middle governorate, within the project for providing legal aid to women in need funded by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), trained around 15 reconciliation figures and mukhtars in how to offer amicable solutions and intervene to resolve family disputes. The meeting was held at the Centre's premises in the Middle governorate.<\/p>\n
At the start of the meeting, the lawyer of the project for providing legal aid to women in need, Nazriya Yassin, set out the project's importance and how legal aid is provided to women through legal representation in the regular courts in the Gaza governorates, in addition to providing free legal advice. She pointed out that the project is concerned with continuous coordination and communication with the Centre's social support team, foremost the mukhtars and reconciliation figures, given their effective role in resolving many outstanding family problems.<\/p>\n
For her part, the project's educator Mariam Abu Al-Ajeen spoke about the question of inheritance in terms of its definition, its elements and its fair divisions, and how far distributing an inheritance fairly strengthens the family and its cohesion in the future. She added: \"Through the project we face daily a large number of cases of violence and injustice affecting many women, and so our role today is to activate the joint social and legal role in support of this marginalised group.\"<\/p>\n
For his part, the lawyer of the project for providing legal aid to women in need, Ahmed Hassouna, explained the ways in which reconciliation figures offer amicable solutions and intervene to resolve family disputes and their contribution to addressing cases and disagreements by sound and correct means. He reviewed a range of common errors that many reconciliation figures fall into by mistake in the mechanisms of legal intervention and in failing to follow the correct legal and lawful procedures.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
