\nToday the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution received a parliamentary delegation from Al-Shati Primary School (C), within the Discipline and Respect initiative and in the framework of joint coordination and communication between the Centre and civil society and educational organisations in Palestinian society.<\/p>\n
The small parliamentary delegation of fifty pupils was received at the Centre's main premises in Gaza City by the coordinator of the project for improving awareness of gender issues, Manal Zein El-Din, who welcomed the visiting delegation and their interest in learning about the Conflict Resolution Center's programmes and projects.<\/p>\n
In this context, Zein El-Din explained to the delegation the main activities and events the Centre carries out in the Gaza and West Bank governorates, in addition to introducing them to the main groups benefiting from the Centre's projects. She stressed that the Centre has several strategies for advocacy, capacity building and community reconciliation within the local community.<\/p>\n
For their part, the young parliamentarians valued the achievements the Conflict Resolution Center has secured in serving and protecting children through the child protection teams project and the project for protecting children from exploitation and harassment. They called for increasing the number of educational meetings for children on a number of issues, among them protecting children in times of war, and for giving them and their peers more recreational and cultural activities.<\/p>\n
During the delegation's visit, the twin girls Meed and Maya Hamid sang a song about life and hope for children, to the applause of the audience, who showed their great pleasure at the song.
