A group of children from the child protection teams project at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution visited the Islamic University in Gaza City. Thirty boys and girls from the project took part in the visit and were received by the representative of the university's public relations department, Amjad Miqdad.<\/p>\n
At the start of the visit, the activity leader on the child protection teams project, Mohammed Al-Kahlout, expressed his pleasure at the Islamic University's distinctive reception of the child protection teams and at its continuing efforts in building successive Palestinian generations. He pointed out that the children of the Tumouh Association, within their programmes with the child protection teams, are concerned with engaging with the local community and learning what benefits them and refines their skills in the future.<\/p>\n
For his part, Miqdad said the Islamic University is pleased with the children's wonderful attendance today to learn about the university, its departments, programmes and achievements at local, regional and international level. He explained that the university takes pride in its students and its academic and administrative staff, in its effort to excel and to advance in building Palestinian society in general and the education sector in particular.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the children learned about the university's main departments and faculties, including how teaching aids are prepared for the university's students in the teaching aids department. They then learned about forms of design and editing and the latest technological equipment, saw a number of the computer halls for students, and then learned how architectural and engineering models are designed and saw the stuffed animals and how laboratory mice are bred for experiments.<\/p>\n
It is noted that the child protection teams project has increased its activities and events given the mid-term school holiday for a number of the children benefiting from and taking part in the project.
