The Justice for All project at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution identified the needs of Palestinian young people relating to holding a set of training courses for youth, within the project's strategic plan for strengthening the legal capacities of a number of groups in the local community.<\/p>\n
The meeting was held with representatives of a number of youth organisations and groups in the Gaza governorates at the Conflict Resolution Center's premises in Gaza on 18\/12\/2011, attended by the coordinator of the Justice for All project, lawyer Younis Al-Tahrawi, and the project's lawyers Anwar Azzam and Mohammed Al-Nashar.<\/p>\n
At the start of the meeting, Al-Tahrawi stressed that the Justice for All project works to achieve the principles of the rule of law and justice within Palestinian society by correcting the course of the law's application, guaranteeing that rights are given to those entitled to them, and achieving equality in society. He added: \"We have held a number of workshops and training courses for a number of groups in society, among them reconciliation figures and those charged with law enforcement, to strengthen their legal capacities and acquaint them with the principles and fundamentals of the law.\"<\/p>\n
The coordinator of the Justice project stressed the need to involve Palestinian young people in decision-making by acquainting them with the principles of the rule of law and the application of justice, through knowing young people's needs in this regard, listening to their views, and strengthening community participation on the basis of knowing rights and duties. He explained that the project will soon begin carrying out its training courses to strengthen the legal capacities of a number of youth groups in the Gaza governorates.<\/p>\n
For their part, the young people called for intensifying training meetings and workshops on how young people can claim their rights and how to defend them, and for focusing on topics relating to dealing with those charged with law enforcement, in particular learning about summons, arrest, the confiscation of personal items, investigation and questioning and the evidence-gathering stage, as well as the topics of cybercrime and electronic theft.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
