The child protection teams project at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution visited a number of the wounded and injured in the continuing Israeli occupation shelling of a number of homes in the Gaza governorates over the past two days.
\nThe coordinator of the child protection teams project in the North, Rabie Hamouda, confirmed that a delegation from the child protection teams visited the home of the family of the martyr Bahjat Al-Zaalan, aged 38, whose house was targeted, leading to his death and the death of his son, the child Ramadan Al-Zaalan, aged 11. He explained that the team offered condolences and psychological and social support to the families of the two martyrs and continues its coordination with the families of the victims and the wounded, whether at home or in hospital.

In a related context, Ola Al-Far, coordinator of the child protection teams project in Gaza, said that another delegation from the team visited Al-Shifa Medical Complex on the morning of Sunday 11\/12\/2011 to check on the members of the Badwan family, whose home was affected on Sunday night by the shelling of a neighbouring house belonging to the citizen Imad Aqel in the Zeitoun neighbourhood south of Gaza City. She added: \"The delegation checked on the health of the child Sundus Ashraf Badwan, 11, who suffered a serious head injury, and visited again her brother, the child Mohammed Badwan, 15, who was hit by shrapnel in his foot, as the children's father Ashraf Badwan told the child protection teams.\"<\/p>\n

It is noted that the child protection teams project carries out its activities and programmes within the Conflict Resolution Center's projects and with funding from UNICEF, with the aim of supporting children, providing psychological and social support and giving them the opportunity to express their ambitions and their hopes for the future despite the challenges and difficult conditions in the Palestinian territories.<\/span><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
