The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution today organised a sit-in entitled \"We demand an international response equal to this crime\", in response to the blatant Israeli assault against the siege-breaking ships coming to Gaza, which resulted in a number of dead and wounded, among them Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in the north of occupied Palestine, when the Zionist occupation forces intercepted the ships and assaulted them. Many of the Centre's staff took part in this sit-in, in addition to a group of graduates and various sections of society and the groups that work with the Centre. For his part, Mr. Saeed Al-Muqadama, director general of the Palestinian Center, condemned this fierce attack, stressing that this act is a hideous crime contrary to international law and humanitarian norms and an Israeli attempt to prevent any efforts to break the siege on our people in Gaza. He called on the international community and all honourable people in the world to intervene urgently to stop these assaults and to put the occupation forces on trial for this attack, as a heinous crime against those who support the Palestinian people besieged in the Gaza Strip.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
