The workshop was attended by 30 women of various age groups and from various sections of society, and was run by the specialist Randa Baraka. The workshop addressed the subject of violence against women from several angles, the most important of them the concepts of violence, its types, causes, consequences and cycle, and the means of protecting women from it. There was also talk and discussion about the common causes of mental health problems in women, and discussion with the women of many points, among them the problems facing women and the putting forward of solutions to these problems. For her part, Randa Baraka confirmed the nature of the project's objectives in terms of providing psychological, social and legal services and the continuation of the project's activities in terms of following up abused cases through psychological sessions at the Centre or at the project's counselling point centres, or through the free phone service, and of bringing abused women to the path of safety and security and protecting them from any violence inflicted on them.
