M.A. is a child of four whose father was killed during the last war on Gaza, which affected his psychological state negatively and made him withdrawn and isolated. Before the incident of his father's killing, the child M.A. was a child full of energy, always eager to go to kindergarten to learn and play with his peers. But after the war and his father's death, his energy, happiness and cheerfulness turned into sadness, fear and withdrawal. The effects were not confined to his psychological state alone, for his weight dropped because of his refusal to eat. Through the activities of the psychosocial support project for kindergarten children and their parents in the Gaza Strip, the Centre held psychodrama sessions, and the child M.A. was among the children present at the sessions. From the start I noticed his lack of engagement and his fear of mixing with others. I tried to include him in the activities but he was hesitant, and when the drawing activity began I distributed many colours and white posters to the children so that they could draw on them. The activity leader asked the child M.A. whether he wanted to take part in this activity and he agreed, so I gave him the colours and began to watch him as he drew. The child M.A. made many drawings, among them helicopters, warplanes, missiles and a man in a grave. I drew closer to him and asked him about his drawings, and he began to speak about the incident of his father. I spoke with him and reassured him that the war was over and that there was no need to be afraid any more, and that all people die and then go to a place better than this. After this activity the child M.A. began to take part in the other activities, particularly the puppet show, and the features of happiness and joy showed on his face. The next day his mother came to the kindergarten because she had noticed the positive change in her son's behaviour when he returned home happy and spoke about the games he had played and about the puppet show. In the second session the child M.A. had mixed completely with the children and took part in all the activities and was extremely happy, and when I asked his mother she said he had woken early and was very eager to go to kindergarten.
