Lawyer Fadi Hamad, who ran the meeting, discussed with those present the rights of the child, the local community's concern for the child and the rights he must enjoy, through international legal protection of children from sexual harassment, Palestinian law and sexual exploitation against children. Mr. Hamad noted that the Palestinian National Authority is working without delay to accede to the international covenants and declarations that protect the child, since the existence of a law dedicated to the child is extremely important given that it includes protecting the child's right against every form of violence. He also discussed the mechanisms of legal pursuit of those who commit crimes of sexual exploitation against children, whether by criminal or civil action.
