Gaza - Maan: today the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution signed a new agreement at the premises of the NPA office, the office of Norwegian People's Aid, in Gaza city, for the third year running, for the project (supporting and empowering women victims of violence). This was in the presence of Ashraf Abu Nada, chairman of the Centre's board, Abdel Moneim Al-Tahrawi, projects coordinator at the Centre, Widad Nasr, women's projects officer at the office of Norwegian People's Aid NPA, and Youssef Al-Nabaheen, financial director at the office of Norwegian Aid.<\/p>\n
During the signing of the agreement, Abu Al-Nada thanked the office of Norwegian People's Aid for the projects it provides that contribute effectively to developing and helping Palestinian society, stressing that this project comes within the Centre's vision and strategy of working with women by limiting the phenomenon of violence that has become worrying in society.<\/p>\n
For her part, Widad Nasr praised the experience of partnership with the Palestinian Center, noting that the challenges facing work on women's issues are many and complex, particularly working amid the psychological and economic circumstances resulting from the current situation and the siege Palestinian society lives under.<\/p>\n
Abdel Moneim Al-Tahrawi noted that the signing of the agreement today comes as a continuation of the activities of the project (supporting and empowering women victims of violence), work on which began two years ago and is still continuing, where this stage is considered the third stage, in which the work comes after the end of the war on Gaza and the catastrophic results it left at all levels, particularly on Palestinian women.<\/p>\n
He confirmed that the project's events and activities come at this stage to be in keeping with the living, economic and social circumstances of Palestinian society as a whole, where work will be carried out in all the northern and southern governorates of the homeland at one and the same time, by targeting wide sectors of women and providing them with legal, social and psychological assistance, in addition to supporting activities that work on developing women's capacities, particularly the graduates among them, by training them in various life and vocational skills, in addition to the free telephone line service 1800400600 for abused women, which operates 9 hours a day.<\/p>\n
