Sometimes the words of a language, for all its breadth, fall short when the pen begins to write down a story that constitutes a real tragedy and an example of a moral catastrophe that has struck a principal part of society, namely the family. One of us may be exposed to assault, abuse or exploitation, and so looks hard for a firm corner to lean on and a safe place to turn to in hardship, to his father or his brother. But the situation in our story, or what we might call our tragedy, is different: a girl grew up to face assault and exploitation by her father and her brother, not an ordinary assault but one the soul recoils from and is sickened to mention: that the innocent look from a father towards his twelve-year-old daughter should turn into looks full of sickening desire.<\/p>\n
Instead of these tender, comforting, warm hands reaching out to his child's head, they become bad touches with a base purpose. She is a girl whose story with a person called her father began when he started to harass her in the first spring of her life, that is an innocent child who did not understand her father's looks towards her.<\/p>\n
As fate would have it, she married a person with whom she thought she had reached safe shores, but the husband's weakness, poverty and neglect made her turn to meeting her needs through her sexual desire with others. The greatest catastrophe was that her brother offered her a sum of money in return for exploiting her sexually, and at that point she refused and turned for help to free her from the state of loss she was living in.<\/p>\n
Our intervention began to help her rid herself of the shock that had left its effects for a long period of her life, by supporting and helping her psychologically and socially and helping her to overcome her economic situation through her work as a hairdresser and by drawing closer to her husband.
