The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution concluded the first phase of the project A Step Towards Change <\/strong>implemented by the Centre in partnership with the Norwegian People's Aid office, attended by Mr. Abdel Moneim Al-Tahrawi, project coordinator, Ms. Samar Hamad, lobbying and advocacy campaigns consultant, and the youth coalition, at the Centre's office in Gaza.<\/h5>\n
The first phase of the project, which covered Gaza, Nablus and Hebron, included forming a youth coalition active in community and political work and delivering a training programme for this coalition of 25 young men and women, covering the following main topics: citizenship and democracy, community participation, social accountability, the law on forming associations, and lobbying and advocacy.<\/h5>\n
The first phase of the project culminated in an election day to choose seven representatives for the coordinating committee in each governorate, a coordinating body of 21 representatives in total. These elected members represent the youth groups in the meetings to be held with the Centre, the West Bank and the women candidates for municipal councils during the coming phase of the project and as part of the lobbying and advocacy campaigns.\"img_9789\"<\/h5>\n
