The training aims to increase women's participation in decision-making at local level by increasing their representation in neighbourhood committees and municipal councils and through lobbying and advocacy campaigns. The programme covers several Palestinian cities, including Gaza, Nablus and Hebron. The main topics covered by the training programme were: social accountability, community participation, presentation skills, the art of electoral debate, and managing and organising electoral campaigns, delivered by a group of trainers in all the areas covered by the training.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Ms. Fayrouz Al-Khazendar, one of the participants and a candidate on the Construction and Development list, explained that this training added many new skills and experiences and helped open the doors of academic research to them. Ms. Rida Talal Al-Masri, another participant and a candidate for the Democratic Alliance, added that the training gave participants valuable information that will raise their political and community awareness and later help them organise the electoral process and their campaigns.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333333;\">For her part, trainer Fatima Ashour stressed the importance of this training programme, which responds to the need to empower women legally and give them an effective opportunity to change policies and take part in decision-making, as part of preparing them for elections, a cornerstone of the country.
