The meeting was attended by Eng. Bilal Al-Yazji, acting emergency assistance coordinator at UNRWA, Mr. Mohammed Aboud, director of the northern public works department (Ministry of Public Works and Housing), Mr. Hassan Al-Wali, general coordinator of the displaced persons' association, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Kayyal of Gaza Municipality, Eng. Muhannad Al-Qanou, director of the engineering department at Beit Hanoun Municipality, and Mr. Abdel Moneim Al-Tahrawi, project coordinator, in addition to a number of lawyers, community activists and affected families, at the Al-Salam Abu Hasira restaurant in Gaza.<\/h5>\n<h5>The meeting, chaired by the Centre's lawyer Mr. Ahmed Hassouna, opened with a discussion of the Centre's view on reconstruction as an issue that concerns all Palestinians, given that it is first and foremost humanitarian as well as political, economic and social, and because the subject of this meeting addresses an important issue: the reasons and obstacles behind the delay in rebuilding the homes destroyed by the successive Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip.<\/h5>\n<h5>The meeting included several interventions by those present, from which a number of recommendations emerged, the most important being: reassessing or cancelling the Robert Serry agreement; working to open all crossings to speed up the entry of building materials; working to end the division that hinders reconstruction; carrying out reconstruction while taking industrial and agricultural construction into account;
