The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution held a dialogue meeting on \"The results of the questionnaires identifying young people's priorities in Al-Zahra city\", within the activities of the project \"Institutionalising social accountability in local government\", which the Centre carries out with support from German cooperation (GIZ)<\/p>\n

on Thursday 5\/4\/2018,<\/p>\n

where Mr. Abdel Moneim Al-Tahrawi, the projects coordinator, opened the meeting welcoming the participants and explaining the mechanism for carrying out the questionnaires identifying young people's priorities in Al-Zahra city.<\/p>\n

Mr. Moumen Abu Nadi, representative of German cooperation (GIZ), also began his remarks by thanking the Al-Zahra city municipality for hosting the meeting, and stressed the importance of young people's role in identifying priorities, given its effect in reflecting young people's needs and conveying them to the municipality, and their effective and notable role in taking part in the strategic development planning process at the Al-Zahra municipality.<\/p>\n

The representative of the youth council under the patronage of the Al-Zahra municipality also addressed the importance of identifying young people's needs and conveying their priorities to decision-makers, and urged young people to take the initiative and take part in the council as a body representing them in Al-Zahra city.<\/p>\n

The Centre presented the questionnaire's results and the main indicators showing young people's concerns in the light of the results. At the close of the meeting the floor was opened for discussion and questions from the young people, where the mayor's representative, Eng. Nidal Al-Khaisi, answered all the questions and noted the main observations and proposals they made, stressing the importance of social accountability in creating a mechanism of dialogue between young people and the municipality and the municipality's continued support for their orientations and their efforts to achieve their aims.<\/p>\n
