I am a married woman and I have four children, three girls and a boy
I am a married woman and I have four children, three girls and a boy, and the fourth child is the youngest among his siblings. I feel that my child is too shy to talk to anyone, even at school he does not take part in class although he knows the answers, and he does not like to go outside the house. At home, though, I feel he is normal and deals with his sisters in the usual way, but I want my child's personality to be sociable at school. Help me solve my problem.

Dear sister,
You must provide a calm atmosphere in which the child is not exposed to any belittling, scolding, disparagement or punishment, since this leads to a lack of self-confidence, which in turn causes non-participation and withdrawal.
Likewise, excessive pampering and exaggerated control are among the wrong methods of social upbringing that cause the child isolation and low activity. Therefore the child must be encouraged and reinforced when he gets past some of the situations he was previously unable to handle where shyness is concerned. We would like here to inform parents of the importance of linking the reward and reinforcement to the intended behaviour, so that the child realises and understands that his steps towards overcoming his shyness are accepted, and so that we do not use the language of labelling by saying the child is shy, fearful or weak. The reasons for the child's refusal to leave the house must be identified, as well as the child's circumstances inside the classroom, since there may be something holding the child back in various respects.
Work accordingly on strengthening the child's confidence in himself by integrating him gradually and highlighting his standing whenever he comes forward with an activity.
