Media professionals for childhood

Today the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution organised a training course at the Adam Hotel entitled "Media professionals for childhood", with many media professionals and journalists taking part. This training comes within the events of the child protection unit project. The training was opened by Mr. Iyad Abu Hjair, director of the Gaza branch, who welcomed the participants and explained the nature of the activities the training would include. Abu Hjair pointed out that at the end of the training there will be a code of honour signed by the media professionals and journalists, leading to the formation of a team under the name "Media professionals for childhood", with the aim of protecting children and defending their rights. Younis Al-Tahrawi, head of the legal unit at the Palestinian Center for Conflict Resolution, began the first day's training with the conventions relating to children's rights, explaining the international and national laws and the mechanisms of protection. The training runs for five days.
