Anxiety

It is a general, vague, unpleasant feeling of apprehension, fear, alertness and tension, usually accompanied by certain bodily sensations, particularly of the autonomic nervous system, and appearing in the form of repeated episodes such as shortness of breath, an awareness of the heartbeat, headache, excessive movement or muscle tension. The pupil who realises that the exam is near while he is not prepared. Exam anxiety: you should do the following: • Always be ready for the exam. • Follow healthy study methods. • Full revision of all lessons on a weekly basis. • Answer the questions of previous exams. • Make your goal to obtain an A+. • Keep away from family and social problems. Exam anxiety: • A balanced diet. • Not staying up late so as to avoid exhausting the nervous system. • Exercise and relaxation exercises. • Start with the difficult before you feel exhausted and beware of avoidance behaviour. Exam anxiety: • Keeping to the dawn prayer, so that you have begun your day with an act of obedience and have come under God's protection and pleased Him Almighty, and remember: if you reach evening do not wait for the morning. • Trust in God Almighty and in yourself. • Do not discuss the subject with any classmate on the night before the exam. • Quick revision on the night before the exam, not studying. • Know that intense emotions of fear lead to distraction and forgetting. The behavioural mistakes practised by the families that create anxiety: Comparing the son with others. Reminding him of his mistakes and weak points. Belittling him. "Do you know how long is left before the exam?" Constantly frightening him about the world and the future. Constant punishment at any mistake. Avoiding dialogue and focusing on criticism. Constant complaining about life's circumstances. "Study so that you become a great engineer." Constantly pushing towards competition. Raising unrealistic goals. The mental rules for facing anxiety: 1) Do not belittle your mental ability and do not exaggerate in describing others as clever. 2) The dawn prayer, so that you have begun your day with an act of obedience and have come under God's protection and pleased God Almighty, and remember: if you reach evening do not wait for the morning. Remember that the difference between the optimist and the pessimist is that the first rejoices in what he has while the second weeps over what he has lost.
