The Palestinian Center for Conflict Resolution delivers legal training for law faculty students in Gaza

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution delivered legal training for forty male and female students from the law faculties of Al-Azhar and Palestine universities who take part in the youth gathering of law faculty students at the Gaza universities. The training was held over three days in the training hall at the Centre's main premises in Gaza City.

The deputy head of the legal department at the Centre, lawyer Ahmed Al-Masri, said: "This training focuses on giving law students expertise in the fields of democracy and the principles of the rule of law," noting that the most important concepts the participants gained include ideas about the foundations of democracy and finding solutions to outstanding issues within communities and civil society organisations.

Al-Masri explained that the students benefited from topics on the rule of law and elections and from learning about the main legal violations any citizen may be subjected to, whether in public places or in institutions, adding: "The legal department at the Centre is keen to make a number of groups in society aware of the importance of turning to the law to resolve the problems and crises citizens face within the local community."

It is worth noting that the Palestinian Center for Conflict Resolution works on delivering a number of legal projects and programmes and has established a legal department in which 12 civil and sharia lawyers work in the governorates of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
