The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution organises an open day for children

Gaza: the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution today, in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), organised an open day for children within the child protection teams project. The open day, held in the Al-Basha'ir hall in Gaza and attended by 400 people including 200 children, included many recreational items, songs, dabke, a theatrical sketch and puppet items. Ms. Manal Zein Al-Din, coordinator for Gaza governorate, explained that this day targeted the children who had been worked with in the field of in-depth counselling and psychological support throughout the project period, in order to support them psychologically and entertain them amid the difficult circumstances and the dreadful psychological pressures they are exposed to. The children expressed their delight by taking part in many recreational items, dancing with the puppets and presenting the open day's programme. The children thanked both the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution for their particular concern with protecting childhood. At the end of the open day gifts were distributed to the children, which brought them joy and delight.
