The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution receives the Support and Reconciliation Committee of the Ministry of Interior in Nablus governorate

On Monday the director of the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, Mr. Ahmed Abu Ayyash, and the Centre's team received the Support and Reconciliation Committee of the Ministry of Interior in Nablus governorate at the Palestinian Center's premises, Nablus branch.

At the start of the meeting Abu Ayyash welcomed the new committee formed by the Ministry of Interior and pointed to the importance of joint work between the committee and the Centre's team in the service of the issues facing Palestinian society. The Centre's team then explained the projects and activities under way at the Centre, and the nature of the relationship between the Centre and the committee was discussed, together with how to handle cases seeking help so that they rely on resolving disputes within the community without going to the courts.

For his part, Hajj Sami Al-Amoudi, head of the committee, valued the Centre's work in serving Palestinian society in all its groups, adding that the committee had been active in previous years in serving the community and helping to resolve the cases brought to the Centre.

During the discussion Al-Amoudi set out several mechanisms the committee will follow in its work this year, among them reconciliation deeds, which will be binding on the parties who come forward and seek the intervention of the support committee.

At the end of the meeting the committee thanked the Centre for its warm reception, and for his part the director of the Centre, Abu Ayyash, thanked the committee for its confidence in the Centre's work and stressed cooperation and effective joint work by the committee in the service of Palestinian society and of the groups in need.
