The Centre begins delivering remedial lessons for adolescents

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in partnership with Save the Children, has begun delivering remedial lessons to around 480 adolescents among the tenth and eleventh grade pupils in the Al-Qarara and Khuzaa areas, within the project "Remedial education and child protection through local community participation", funded by Italian Cooperation. This project aims at improving the pupils' educational level through remedial lessons in English, Arabic and mathematics, developing their energies and capacities through psychological and social support activities and life skills, and strengthening their protection and the attention given to them by parents, teachers and members of the local community. Raed Abu Saada, the project coordinator, confirmed that the training of the teams working on this project, from teachers to counsellors and activity leaders, was completed earlier, where they were trained in how to deliver remedial education to the target group by the most modern methods, provided with life skills, and taught how to offer them the appropriate counselling services. He also confirmed that the pupils have expressed their interest in and happiness with this project, since it addresses the subjects most difficult for them, as well as the teachers explaining with modern and enjoyable means and methods.
