The Centre holds a series of workshops on combating violence against women in cooperation with civil society organisations
The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in cooperation with a number of civil society organisations in various parts of the Strip, held fifteen workshops on women's issues over the past week.
The last of these workshops was held on the morning of Thursday 11 February, in cooperation with Al-Aqsa University at the university's premises in Gaza City. The workshop was run by the community activist Samir Al-Muqadama and the psychological counsellor Raeda Wishah, in the presence of 35 male and female students of the university.
These meetings come within a series of events the Centre organises in the framework of its tireless work in awareness and counselling to limit the phenomenon of violence against women, in cooperation with the Norwegian aid office within the project for supporting and empowering abused women.
These meetings aim at public awareness of the concepts of violence and its levels, family relations between spouses, how to deal with family problems, and the consequences of violence for the family and society amid the siege and unemployment everyone is going through, in addition to putting forward mechanisms for psychological and social support for abused women and ways of psychological release and mechanisms for facing psychological pressures.
