A visit by the Palestinian youth parliament to the Centre's premises

The Palestinian youth parliament, represented by Gaza preparatory school "A", visited the premises of the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution on Wednesday 9/3/2011. The parliament's members were received by Mr. Rabie Hamouda, coordinator of the project "Our children are our hopes", and lawyer Ahmed Al-Masri. Mr. Hamouda reviewed the Centre's programmes and activities, which aim at providing psychological, social, legal and educational support to children and women, in addition to the role of the psychological and social counsellors at the Centre. For his part, Mr. Al-Masri explained the main international and local laws concerning the rights of the child and the mechanisms for supporting his rights through the legal aspect. Al-Masri also went on to speak about the project "Protecting children from sexual harassment and exploitation" and its importance in increasing awareness and spreading it among the young. At the close of the meeting, brochures on the Centre's activities and events were distributed.
