The child protection teams hold a children's festival to mark World Children's Day in Gaza
Gaza, Publication and Information Unit:
The child protection teams project at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution held a childhood festival in the north Gaza Strip governorate with the participation of 160 children without disabilities and 90 children with disabilities, in the presence of the adviser to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Mio Nemoto.
At the start of the festival, the coordinator of the child protection teams project in the North governorate, Rabie Hamouda, stressed the need to apply the rights of the child to the children of Palestine like the rest of the world's children. He called for a message to be conveyed to the United Nations through the UNICEF representative, the adviser Nemoto, about the suffering of the children of the Palestinian people and demanding that protection be provided for them.
Hamouda called for providing the necessary health care to children with disabilities and for setting up dedicated institutions to care for people with disabilities in the Gaza governorates. He added: "This festival comes within the Conflict Resolution Center's events for children to mark World Children's Day, through which we work to serve children and support them in all circumstances."
The adviser Nemoto shared the children's joy on the occasion of their world day and engaged with the children while they played with the puppets and the theatre, and the children showed their happiness and a smile was drawn on their faces during the songs, the music and the dancing with the puppets.
It is worth noting that the Conflict Resolution Center held a children's march last week to mark World Children's Day at the Unknown Soldier Square, with the participation of around 1,000 children from the various Gaza governorates, calling for children to be protected and given the lawful rights guaranteed to them by international law.
