Conflict Resolution Center holds a training course within the project for supporting martyrs' widows and orphans

Gaza: the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution carried out a training course for female educators within the events of the project "Supporting martyrs' widows and orphans", funded by the Welfare Association. It is worth noting here that this training continues for 3 consecutive days at 15 training hours, within the events of this project, which aims at providing psychological and legal support to around 545 widows and at acquainting them with the way to deal with their children and giving them problem-solving skills. Ahwaz Bakr, the project coordinator, stated that the aim of this training is to qualify the educators in how to train mothers and widows to deal with their children and to provide them with psychological, social and legal support. The items of this training centred on how to deal with the orphaned child, the psychological factors that help the child, methods of resolving disputes through the process of communication, how to hold an open discussion with widows to learn the main problems they face with their orphaned children and address them, and the legal and sharia rights of widows and the problems they face from the legal angle. At the end of the training the floor was opened for discussion and dialogue among the participants in the training, to identify the mechanisms and strands for dealing with widows and providing them with psychological and legal support.
