Conflict Resolution Center receives the director of the United States Agency for International Development in Nablus governorate

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution received the director of the United States Agency for International Development, Mike Harvey, and the delegation accompanying him, Nisreen Al-Najjar and Ziad Abdullah, director of the Civil Society Participation Programme at Catholic Relief Services, attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, the workers' unions and the private sector and representatives of the advocacy body in the Active Citizenship project for enacting a minimum wage.
The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution received the director of the United States Agency for International Development, Mike Harvey, and the delegation accompanying him, Nisreen Al-Najjar and Ziad Abdullah, director of the Civil Society Participation Programme at Catholic Relief Services, attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, the workers' unions and the private sector and representatives of the advocacy body in the Active Citizenship project for enacting a minimum wage.
The delegation was received by the director of the Conflict Resolution Center's Nablus branch, Ahmed Abu Ayyash, who opened the meeting by welcoming the guests and stressing the importance of strengthening the future relationship in the framework of serving Palestinian society and ensuring that development projects are carried out for the local community.
For his part, the director of the United States Agency for International Development expressed his admiration for the project and the achievements it has reached in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and the workers' unions, and for the excellent study the project produced on workers' views and attitudes regarding their wage levels and living conditions.
For her part, the coordinator of international relations and funding at the Conflict Resolution Center, Izza Al-Sumeiri, reviewed the main achievements of the Active Citizenship project for enacting a minimum wage, in addition to speaking about the figures, coordination and events the Conflict Resolution Center has carried out on this project in the previous period.
At the end of the meeting, the director of the Conflict Resolution Center presented a symbolic commemorative gift to Mr. Harvey for his efforts in funding the Active Citizenship project and making it a success, and called for strengthening future communication and partnership and for working to develop capacities within Palestinian society.
