Conflict Resolution Center holds an awareness meeting on marital relations and how to handle them
Nablus, Publication and Information Unit:
The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in cooperation with the Civic Committee Association in Nablus governorate, held an awareness meeting for 15 women on "Marital and family disputes", within the activities and events of the project "Towards a society free of violence".
The meeting began with an address by Wurud Yassin, psychologist at the Conflict Resolution Center, in which she set out the main activities and services the Centre provides, in addition to the family meeting point service.
Yassin went on to mention the causes that create a kind of tension and difficulty between spouses, explaining the importance of certain basics that support married life, and that there needs to be a kind of art in handling married life, because family stability is reflected positively in the children, and where there are problems between spouses this affects the family negatively and creates an atmosphere of tension.
The floor was then opened for discussion and questions on ways of reducing marital problems and how to deal with them, and on the consequences that follow from such problems. At the end of the meeting a number of consultations and cases were referred to the Centre's psychological and legal clinic.
It is worth noting that the project "Towards a society free of violence" is carried out by the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution with funding from the Norwegian People's Aid programme in the governorates of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, for a wide group of women, with the aim of empowering them socially and reintegrating them into society .
