The Justice for All project begins a training course for reconciliation figures in Khan Younis

The Justice for All project at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution began a training course entitled "Strengthening the legal capacities of reconciliation figures in arbitration law, the law of evidence and personal status" on 4/12/2011 at the Centre's premises in Khan Younis governorate, south of the Gaza Strip.
At the start of the training course, the coordinator of the Justice for All project, Younis Al-Tahrawi, stressed the importance of strengthening the capacities of reconciliation figures given their major role in addressing a number of legal cases in the local community. He pointed to the need for continuous coordination with the mukhtars and reconciliation figures with the aim of supporting groups in society with all the advice and means needed to secure the application of the law.
Al-Tahrawi explained that the training course will cover a number of subjects, the most important of them the personal status law, penal procedures and arbitration in Islamic law. He added: "The training course will continue for two weeks, totalling 45 hours, with the participation of 20 reconciliation figures from the governorates of the southern Gaza Strip."
It is noted that the Justice for All project is carried out by the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution with funding from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the aim of strengthening the legal capacities of a range of groups within Palestinian society by carrying out a number of activities and events in the Gaza governorates.
