A black day in the history of humanity
In the framework of the popular campaign to express anger at the fierce Zionist attack the occupation forces launched against the freedom flotilla, the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution organised, for the second day running, a march, sit-in and protest to express total rejection and condemnation of what happened to those who support our people, and to offer them a salute of respect and esteem for their support for our cause and our people and for risking their lives to break the siege on our people in Gaza. The march set off from in front of the Palestinian Center with the participation of the Centre's staff, headed by Mr. Saeed Al-Muqadama, director general of the Centre, and Mr. Iyad Abu Hjair, director of the Gaza branch, in addition to the participation of the partner organisations and various groups of society. The participants in this march raised chants denouncing the hideous crime and supporting those who were aboard the flotilla in support of our people, raising flags and banners expressing overwhelming anger. When the march reached Gaza port, a statement of denunciation and condemnation entitled "A black day in the history of humanity" was read out, denouncing the hideousness of the crime and calling for the release of the detainees, the trial of the occupation forces, the lifting of the injustice, the achievement of justice, and the joining of efforts to break the siege, achieve national unity and strengthen the bonds among all the shades of the Palestinian people. The participants in the march also stood for a minute's silence and recited the Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs, and then threw flowers and placed a memorial wreathed in flowers in the sea, as a symbol of the naval flotilla that had been coming to break the siege.
