Conflict Resolution Center organises a training course for social work graduates on prisoners' rights

On Tuesday the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in partnership with the Idmaj Association for the Aftercare of Prisoners, organised a training course for social work graduates in the training hall at the Conflict Resolution Center, due to run for three days.

The first day covered training topics on prisoners' rights under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international humanitarian law. The second day will be devoted to prisoners' rights under the law on reform and rehabilitation centres, and on the third day the discussion and training will cover the guarantees for prisoners provided to defendants by the code of criminal procedure and the procedures for a fair trial.

This training course comes within the framework of coordination with the organisations concerned, with the aim of raising awareness and developing the capacities of those working in social work, particularly those working in reform and rehabilitation centres.

The Conflict Resolution Center signed a memorandum of understanding in 2012 with the Reform and Rehabilitation Directorate covering the provision of legal services and the development of the capacities of those working in this field.
