Conflict Resolution Center organises a closing ceremony for the project "Coalition of civil forces for civil peace"

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, Hebron branch, organised the closing ceremony under the title "The homeland and the future bring us together", concluding the project "Five years after the division", funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), attended by representatives of the national forces, governmental, civil and official organisations and dozens of citizens.
The event, held at the Al-Amanah Hotel, included a speech-giving festival that began with the Holy Qur'an and the national anthem and in which several addresses were delivered, in which the speakers stressed working to achieve national unity, rejecting the division and reuniting the homeland.
The director of the Centre, lawyer Saad Shalaldeh, said: "We at the Palestinian Center regard with the greatest seriousness and concern the division between the two parts of the homeland, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, which has affected every aspect of social, economic and political life and done great harm to the fabric of our Palestinian society."
He added: "Over the past five years we have held many events and activities on national unity and on strengthening the principle of tolerance, through public meetings, workshops, round tables and sessions with imams, university students, school pupils, national leaders and all groups in Palestinian society."
Shalaldeh called on governmental and non-governmental organisations, the national and Islamic factions, civil society organisations and all sections of Palestinian society to join together and unite for the sake of national unity, so that we can devote ourselves to our great cause: national liberation and the establishment of an independent state.
In his address, Ibrahim Jaradat, adviser to the governor of Hebron on civil peace affairs, pointed to the earnest efforts being made to strengthen civil peace, through clan conferences, reconciliation figures and the committees formed by the governorate in order to ensure a decent life for the people of the homeland.
For his part, Badran Jaber, representing the national forces, noted the importance of peace and unity among the members of society, and called on all sections of society to work to restore Palestinian cohesion and national unity so as to restore civil peace, security and safety for the people of the homeland.
