Conflict Resolution Center holds a course in the art of paper folding for psychologists
Gaza, Conflict Resolution Center:
The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution held a course in the art of paper folding, with 25 psychologists and children's activity leaders benefiting from the training, in order to give them skills in emotional release and supportive teaching.
For her part, Dina Al-Anqar, coordinator of children's projects at the Conflict Resolution Center, said we seek to develop the capacities of psychologists in the fields of emotional release and activity in new and creative forms, in order to develop work in the field of children's activities in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Eng. Haitham Hajjaj, the course trainer, said this art is one of the arts of origami, and that through the training we work to give the trainees a new manual skill to help them in leading activities, and that it is an effective tool of emotional release for children and adults alike.
He added that the training was practical and applied, using paper to make attractive shapes in order to convey useful information to children during the activity sessions the trainees will later deliver in the field.
Hajjaj pointed out that psychologists describe this art by saying: "Those who master it do not benefit only artistically, but feel happiness and good mental health, because people with hobbies are psychologically distinctive and better adjusted than their peers."
