A Norwegian People's Aid delegation inspects the Conflict Resolution Center's projects in Hebron governorate

A delegation from the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) programme inspected the projects supporting women and the local community at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution during its recent visit to the Centre's branch in Hebron governorate. The delegation was received by the head of the Conflict Resolution Center branch, Saad Shalaldeh, and the team of the project "Towards a society free of violence", with a number of the project's beneficiaries attending.

At the start of the visit, Shalaldeh reviewed the main achievements of the project "Towards a society free of violence" and the ways in which psychological, social and legal services are provided to women victims of violence. He explained that the Conflict Resolution Center branch in Hebron has provided legal and psychological support to 550 cases, in addition to drawing on the role of reconciliation committees in addressing the community problems women face with their families.

The visit included introducing the Norwegian delegation to the main departments and activities the Centre carries out alongside its attention to women's issues, and sitting with the team and with the beneficiaries of the workshops and counselling services to learn how the work proceeds and the nature of the services provided to them. Afterwards the branch director took the delegation on an introductory visit within the walls of the old town in Hebron governorate.

It should be noted that the current period is seeing visits by funders from the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) programme, the most recent of which was last week to the Conflict Resolution Center's main premises in the Gaza Strip, to review the results and achievements of the projects carried out in support of women victims of violence.
