The project for protecting children from sexual harassment holds a meeting for a children's march in Gaza

The project for protecting children from sexual exploitation and harassment at the Conflict Resolution Center held a preparatory meeting for the children's march to mark World Children's Day, which falls on 20 November each year, to call for attention to be given to supporting the rights of the child within the local community.

Iman Abu Saeed, coordinator of the child protection project in the North governorate, noted that the preparatory meeting was attended by 20 boys and girls and representatives of the partner associations at the Centre's main premises, with the aim of preparing the posters and banners that will be raised on the day of the march. She added: "We are mobilising for the participation of 1,000 boys and girls from all the Gaza governorates to raise slogans and posters supporting the rights of the child and the guarantee of living in safety and security."

Abu Saeed said: "The phenomenon of harassment and exploitation of children exists in the Palestinian territories, and so through these meetings we contribute to giving children a picture of the concepts of harassment and of how to protect themselves in cases where they are exposed to harassment, and of the need to inform parents and officials so that they are protected."

She called for participation and attendance at the children's march, which is due to be held at the Unknown Soldier Square in Gaza City, with a number of civil society organisations and partner organisations invited to take part in the demonstration to mark World Children's Day.

It is noted that the project for protecting children from sexual exploitation carries out its activities in cooperation with a number of partner organisations, among them the Savings and Credit Association, the Zarqa Development Association, the Zeitoun Association for Training and Entrepreneurship and the Association for the Revival of Culture in Gaza.
