The Palestinian Center completes training for children's activity leaders, child protection team

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), completed training for children's activity leaders and educational activity leaders within the child protection teams project. The training reached 50 male and female activity leaders in Gaza City and the South, with the aim of giving them broader skills and experience in how to deal with children and in activity leading and play by sound methods and rules. It also reached 50 educational activity leaders in the governorates of the Gaza Strip, with the aim of giving them skills and experience in learning through play, methods of active learning, how to communicate with children and the ability to use teaching aids correctly. The project coordinator, Dina Al-Anqar, stated that after the training is completed the educational activity leaders and children's activity leaders will be distributed across 50 educational centres spread over all the Gaza governorates to begin registering children, preparing the sites and starting work. The training programme includes acquainting the participants with the importance of play for children, the main theories of psychological support, the foundations of effective communication, how to build sound social relations, and teaching children through activity-based methods.
