Opening a new branch of the family meeting point in the North governorate

In line with what was agreed with the sharia judiciary, represented by Sheikh Dr. Hassan Al-Joujou and the judges of the Supreme Sharia Court, on the need to designate a place for visits in the North governorate, and as a continuation of the service the Centre provides in this framework, a meeting was held with the judicial police in the North to study the means available to begin implementation, after the Bisan recreational city was chosen as the place to host visitation cases, with the approval of the Minister of Interior, since the Ministry of Interior is the body supervising the city. Accordingly, a preliminary meeting was held with Mr. Shadi Hamad, director of Bisan city, to agree on organising the reception of cases, designating comfortable places for them inside the recreational city, and setting the days on which visits will take place, with cases to be received on Monday and Tuesday of each week. This step came after it became clear to the Centre that more than thirty visitation cases were taking place at police stations in the northern area, which led the Centre's management to consider setting up a family meeting point in the North governorate. It is noted that the family meeting point was established in 2002 in coordination with the sharia courts to refer all visitation cases to the Centre, in order to ease the psychological effects on the children of separated parents caused by enforcing visitation rulings at police stations. Several branches were opened in Gaza and in the Middle and southern governorates, and it extended to include the West Bank in Nablus, Hebron and Ramallah.
