Fathers fighting, children lost
A child of ten years old lost his mother because of a small quarrel between her and his father, which led him to declare war on her and go and marry another woman, so the mother left her children with their grandmother and their stepmother. The child began to suffer from great psychological problems, having lost his mother's tenderness and care. He would go and sleep alone on his mother's bed hoping to catch the scent of her tenderness in the pillow, bearing sleeping on his own and a child's fear. In addition he became an aggressive person, quick to anger, flaring up for the slightest reason, and his studies were also affected so that he neglected his school and his schoolwork. The child's problem was identified by gathering sufficient information about him, and then intervening in his problem to help him get through such circumstances, by urging the child to talk, emotional release, religious counselling and rational emotive counselling, helping him to adapt to the new reality, as well as increasing his self-confidence, encouraging him and persuading him to give attention to his studies and to the importance of study for him in particular, together with psychological support sessions for the child. Indeed, new features began to show in his character: he became calmer and more reasonable, trying to control himself at times of anger, and he progressed further in his studies.
