Field visits to planned project sites under the Marginalised Communities Development Project
The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, together with the Municipal Development and Lending Fund and in the presence of a delegation from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, took part in a series of field visits to the sites of several projects planned in the targeted municipalities, within the project "Developing Marginalised Communities through Accountable Municipal Services in the Gaza Strip".
The visit schedule covered the following sites:
- The Al-Saayda area in the Al-Maghazi municipality, where a sewage project will be implemented.
- The Wadi Al-Salqa municipality, where a multi-purpose cultural centre will be built.
- Al-Sikka Park in the Al-Qarara municipality, which will be developed under the project.
- Street No. 69 in the Qa' Al-Qurain area of the Khan Younis municipality, which is scheduled to be paved.
- The plot of land allocated for a multi-purpose cultural centre in the Al-Fukhari area.
The visits were attended by residents of the targeted areas and members of the project's community committee in each municipality, who affirmed their commitment to taking an active part in all the project's activities and stages, so that it responds to the needs and requirements of their communities.
The project aims to enable marginalised communities in the targeted municipalities to obtain more accountable infrastructure services, and to strengthen their participation in the decisions municipalities take to improve their living conditions.
