Announcement: Formation of Community Committees in Municipalities
The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in partnership with the Municipal Development and Lending Fund and in cooperation with the partner municipalities, seeks through the Marginalised Local Communities Development Project in the Gaza Strip (Phase II) to strengthen the principle of community participation, promote a culture of openness and social responsibility, and engage and empower local communities as the most vulnerable and fragile, by involving citizens and activists from these communities in the project's activities and forming a community committee in each of the seven new municipalities (Al-Maghazi, Wadi Al-Salqa, Al-Musaddar, Abasan Al-Kabira, Khan Younis, Bani Suheila and Al-Fukhari). The committee aims to strengthen the role of citizens in the community and to advance local development through the projects to be implemented under this project, as well as to raise awareness of the culture of participation and social accountability by developing members' capacities through the training programme scheduled for August 2023. Registration requirements for the training programme:
1. The applicant must be available full-time for the training during the training period
2. The applicant must be a resident of the marginalised areas of the targeted municipalities listed in the registration link
3. The applicant must be motivated to undertake community volunteer work
4. We encourage the participation of young people of both sexes, and of persons with disabilities
5. The registration deadline is Tuesday, 25 July 2023
