The Centre carries out 120 educational meetings to support and rehabilitate women victims of violence
In the context of the Centre's philosophy, which seeks to strengthen the structure of the Palestinian family and to provide support and counselling to women and spouses with the aim of strengthening family and social ties, through providing protection and providing legal, psychological and social assistance and services by means of a select group of male and female intervention teams with experience and competence and the Centre's various teams.
The Centre carried out 120 educational meetings within the project for supporting and rehabilitating women victims of violence, including 18 meetings specific to men targeting 450 people, during which women's and men's rights, how to deal with women, the legislative laws specific to married life, what violence is and its causes, forms and motives, and the man's role in increasing or alleviating violence were discussed; and 102 meetings specific to women targeting 2,550 women, where the educational meetings spoke about the mechanisms of psychosocial support for abused women, how to unburden oneself psychologically and the mechanisms for facing psychological pressures.
The educational meetings were distributed across all the places of the Strip in cooperation with the organisations and associations spread throughout the Strip.
Through these meetings the awareness of women and men increased regarding the types of violence, how to be rid of it and the role of each group in increasing or alleviating the severity of violence and its effects on married life. A number of cases were referred to be worked on as individual cases inside the Centre or inside the counselling points, and cases needing legal intervention.
