Conflict Resolution holds a dialogue meeting on children's visitation at police stations in Khan Younis governorate

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in cooperation with the Khan Younis and Al-Qarara police stations and the police district, held a dialogue meeting attended by 13 enforcement officers working in the southern governorate's police stations, to discuss the question of visitation for the children of divorced families.
For their part, the participants in the dialogue meeting called for urging the sharia judges to inform those covered by judgments of how enforcement cases work before they go to the police stations, as well as for taking visitation times into account and for calling on the judiciary to soften the wording written in judgments, such as the use of the term "compulsory force", and to seek to protect children's morale.
It is worth noting that the Conflict Resolution Center was the first to launch the idea of the family meeting points in 2002, in partnership with the High Council of Sharia Judiciary, with the aim of protecting children during visitation and ensuring a suitable environment and atmosphere for parents to sit with their children after separation or divorce. The family meeting points are spread across all the Centre's branches in the governorates of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
